Banking Section: Downward Trend in Bank Customer Experience

Customers at retail banks reported having fewer positive customer experiences for the first time in three years, according to the eleventh annual World Retail Banking Report (WRBR) released today by Capgemini. More than one-quarter of the countries in the WRBR’s Voice of the Customer survey reported a decrease of more than 10 percent in the share of customers with positive experiences, a reversal from 2013 when increases of more than 20 percent were prevalent.

Starbucks claims that sales on its Starbucks Card programme now accounts for a third of transactions in the US and Canada, while 10 million Starbucks customers actively use the mobile app, double the number a year ago. Adam Brotman, Starbucks’ chief digital officer, speaking on a conference call yesterday evening (24 April) said the rewards programme is helping drive up incremental revenue at its core business through personalised offers and more relevant communications.
